Rulani Mokwena on Relebohile Mofokeng
MC Alger Head Coach Rulani Mokwena told members of the media that his side made inquiries on the possibility of getting the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng. Mokwena is the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Athletic Club coach. He was speaking after beating CS Constantine 1-0 in the Algerian Ligue 1 match on Monday. The only goal in the match came in the 90+6 minute by Z. Ferhat. Mokwena left South Africa after winning the Betway Premiership title; he was unlucky to lose in the Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates.
Mokwena said, "I know the fans want Mofokeng. I know this and believe me, I want Mofokeng; he is a South African player that I speak to, also about certain things in South African football. It is not just a financial perspective because I can tell you, the player has many, many offers and he has said on his side that he is going to Europe. So I can talk about this because it is just an example that the club is ambitious. The club has explored that possibility but the player has no ambitions to play in Africa. So it is not a lack of ambitions from the president."
