South African coach Rulani Mokwena has managed to get his first win in the Algerian Premier League. Mokwena, who joined MC Alger after parting ways with the Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, has won 1-0 against the current log leaders Olympique Akbon on Friday night. The winning goal came just after the 8th minute in the first half by Reda Halaimia.
After the match, during the press conference, Mokwena said, "Not winning it's not because you don't want, but the opponent is very good. It will be difficult for teams to win here. I think we did very well; I'm very proud of the players; good character. Last season we lost this game, so congratulations to the players."
"Everybody knows we are struggling a little bit with injuries at the moment." In South Africa, Rulani Mokwena has worked for a number of clubs, including Orlando Pirates, Chippa United, and Mamelodi Sundowns."
