Richards Bay clinched the KwaZulu Natal Premier's Cup after beating Durban City 1-0 at Umhlathuze Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon. The goal came late by Tshepo Mabua on the penalty, sending the goalkeeper in the wrong direction. Durban City knocked AmaZulu FC 3-2, reaching the final.
KwaZulu Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli told Supersport TV that he is expecting big clubs to come and play at the newly renovated Umhlathuze Sports Complex. "It is inspiring to bring such a tournament to the youngsters. We are all excited about these games despite the bad weather, which is not good. It was the official opening of the stadium. We are going to have big teams playing in this stadium."
"This is the only province with a Premier's Cup; in this province, we take care of the talents." Ahead of the Premier's Cup over the weekend, AmaZulu FC assistant coach Simo Dladla told SA FM Sports that he's happy to work with coach Arthur Zwane. "It has been good from day one when we met. We discussed how we are going to work, set up plans, and expectations. So mine is to focus on the development of youngsters and get them ready for the head coach."
"Obviously, I'll be putting my experience in and coming out with winning ways. It was amazing to find that we are on the same page with coach Arthur."
