Riberio Costa in Spain

Brazilian forward Lucas Riberio Costa has completed the move to join Spanish La Liga 2 side Cultural Deportiva Leonesa. Riberio terminated his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns on the 1st of August 2025. At the end of August, he signed a one-year deal with the Spanish side, despite him being contracted to Mamelodi Sundowns until 2027.

FIFA granted Riberio Costa his ITC to be eligible to play for the La Liga 2 side, although a case with Mamelodi Sundowns still continues. Prior to this commitment by Lucas Riberio Costa, he was linked with a number of clubs, the likes of Fluminense in Brazil and Qatar SC in Qatar.
