Pyramids Champions of the CAF Champions League

Egyptian premier league club Pyramids FC are the new champions of the CAF Champions League after beating Mamelodi Sundowns 3-2 on aggregate . In the first leg played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in South Africa both sides ended the match 1-1 .

Pyramids FC and Democratic Republic of Congo striker Fiston Mayele opened the scoring in the 24th minute in the first half . In the second half Ahmed Sami added salt inside wounds to give the Egyptians 2-0 in the 56th minute . Mamelodi Sundowns came back strong putting lot of pressure resulted into a goal in the 75th minute by Iqraam Rayners .

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso made number of changes in the team replacing Tashreeq Matthews , Jayden Adams , Musa Lebusa and Iqraam Rayners . 

Arthur Sales , Thapelo Morena , Peter Shalulile and Lebohang Mothiba they all came in the second half.  Minister of Sports , arts and culture in South Africa Mr Gayton McKenzie attended the match . Fiston Mayele in thirteen games played has scored nine .
