Portia Modise on Banyana Banyana after WAFCON exit

The former Banyana Banyana captain Portia Modise has come out to criticize some of the technical team members. Banyana Banyana lost 2-1 against Nigeria in the semi-final. Modise said, "Sometimes you don't need coaching, you just need motivation. Our substitutions were so late in this game. We needed to realize that we were the better team."

"I'm so disappointed with the people who are sitting on the bench who can't even advise the coach. Nigeria can't even play five touches; we can't even capitalize on our chances; we can't read the game. We were supposed to win the WAFCON the second time. No one was motivating players; we gave Nigeria the game."

"Sometimes you don't have to listen to the coach. There was no danger in this game; we lacked leadership skills on the field of play. We couldn't realize that it is only number 15 and 16 who were giving us problems."
