Polokwane will host Carling Cup final 2025
Premier Soccer League have announced that Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane will host the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup final 2025 on the 6th of December. The announcement was made just after the Lamontville Golden Arrows match against Marumo Gallants at King Zwelithini Stadium, in Umlazi in Durban on Sunday afternoon.
Arrows and Marumo Gallants match ended 2-2 after extra time; it went to penalties. Marumo Gallants and Warriors goalkeeper Washington Arubi saved two on penalties on the day, from Brandon Theran and the former Orlando Pirates defender Thabo Matlaba. Marumo Gallants won 4-2 on penalties. On Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, Orlando Pirates won 1-0 against Richards Bay.
Man of the match on Sunday's match Phillip Ndlondlo said, "God is great all the time; I'd like to dedicate this win to one of our soldiers who left us. We lost two games in a row but we needed to redeem ourselves. We have an amazing coach; he is one of the best. Coming to the final; it's going to be one of the best, that's all I can say." Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi said, "We committed some elementary mistakes in the first half. In the second half, we came back; but in the Cup game, if you don't take your chances, you don't win.
"In the second half, we created chances and as for them; even against Mamelodi Sundowns they were playing like this and it is working for them. Arubi is the best in this situation, but you have to accept that, if it is not your day, it is not your day."
