Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates winger Oswin Appollis revealed on what coach Hugo Broos said to them regarding the Teboho Mokoena issue. Before the match, the Lesotho Football Association threatened to lodge a protest if Bafana Bafana played Teboho Mokoena. Despite the warning, Teboho Mokoena was on the team when Lesotho lost 3-0 to Bafana Bafana in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match on Friday night.

Speaking to Eyewitness News, Appollis said, "The coach told us that we must leave that stuff to those who handle that business. Our job is to go out and get victory; and that's what we did. We have a very talented group, if you saw last night (Friday), there are some new players who just came into the squad, and I'm happy that the group is united.

"Going into the game (Nigeria), it's going to be a very difficult game. The most important thing we want to think about now is to be successful on Tuesday and how to overcome opponents. Playing Nigeria, there's so much talent there. I think most of them are playing in Europe, winning trophies, playing in the Premier Leagues. It is a motivation for us South Africa to play this big game."
