Orlando Pirates to the Final

Orlando Pirates are through to the MTN 8 final after beating Mamelodi Sundowns 4-1 on penalties. Orlando Pirates fans came in numbers at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria; they outnumbered Mamelodi Sundowns fans in the stands. In the first half, both teams created chances; Mamelodi Sundowns were the first to score in the 16th minute by Iqraam Rayners.

Just before halftime, Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou made changes by replacing Patrick Maswanganyi with Bandile Shandu. Mamelodi Sundowns needed only a 0-0 draw or a 1-0 win to reach the final. In the 73rd minute, Kamogelo Sebelebele scored as he did last week at Orlando Stadium. 

The match went to penalties; Deon Hotto, Abdoulaye Mariko, Sipho Mbule, and Tshegofatso Mabasa scored penalties. For Mamelodi Sundowns, only Lebo Mothiba managed to beat Sipho Chaine. Teboho Mokoena and Marcel Allende missed penalties. After the match, Mamelodi Sundowns fans were not happy. They ended up going outside to stop the Mamelodi Sundowns bus from leaving after the match, demanding the coach leave the club.
