Orlando Pirates : MTN 8 Champions 2025

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has managed to win his first trophy since joining Orlando Pirates. Ouaddou started the Betway Premiership with two defeats, against Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants. In the MTN 8, he won against Polokwane City and Mamelodi Sundowns. It is the fourth time now Orlando Pirates have won the MTN 8 title.

In the first half, Orlando Pirates played very well and created chances. Stellenbosch FC did not play in the first half; they were relying on transition. In the second half, Stellenbosch came back strong until Orlando Pirates' coach made changes. The match went to extra time after 0-0 in the 90th minute. The former AmaZulu FC star Tshepang Moremi scored at the beginning of the first half in extra time.

Orlando Pirates never defended; they continued to press until Tshegofatso Mabasa scored the second. Tshepang Moremi completed his brace in the 19th minute in extra time to finish Stellies.
