Morocco reached final of the AFCON picture

Morocco is through to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 in Morocco after beating Nigeria 4-2 on penalties. After the 90th minute and extra time, the match went into penalties. In the last AFCON, Nigeria knocked out Bafana Bafana in the Semi Final on penalties, but this time around, it wasn't to be. Chippa United and Nigeria's goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali managed to save a penalty. In the first half, Calvin Bassey received a yellow card in the 33rd minute. In the second half, in the 77th minute, Onyedika also received a yellow card.

Nigeria made changes in the game; replacing Onyedika for Moses Simon, Akor Adams for Dele Bashiru, Victor Osimhen for Paul Onuachu, and Chukwueze came in for Frank Onyeka. During the penalties, Onyemaechi and Chukwueze missed penalties. Onuachu and Bashiru scored the two penalties. On the Moroccan side, it is only Hamza Igamane who missed the penalty. The four penalties were scored by Nesyri, Hakimi, Seghir, and Neil El Aynaoui. The Nigerians will play against Egypt in the consolation third-place match on Saturday.

In the first Semi Final match between Senegal and Egypt, it ended 1-0 in favor of Senegal. The only goal for the match came in the 78th minute by Sadio Mane. In the first half, only three players received yellow cards. For the Senegalese are Koulibaly and Diarra, and for the Egyptians, it was Abdelmaguid in the 6th minute.
