Mkhwanazi on Festive Season Campaign

KwaZulu Natal Provincial Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi launch Festive Season Campaign . Speaking during the launch Mkhwanazi said " For the people that are going to be in KwaZulu Natal province ; either for visiting or tourists and everyone else who will be spending time during this period . We have to make sure that we provide safety for the enjoyment period while they are here .

" Festive Season operation plan we are officially launching here today . It is already in motion ; because we divided our plan into two phases . The first phase started on the 15th of October , we refer it as pre - Festive Season period . It runs until the 30th November . During this time we ensure that that the national certificate examination are secured . This is done through Police visibility in all examination centre {s}. When we provide safety , we provide visibility around warehouses where matric papers are kept .

" We also ensure that we provide escort services to the vehicle that are transporting exam material . To the schools and from ghe schools ; to make sure that there's safer exam period , is being conducted in the province . The same period also includes the commencement of the 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children , from the 25th November to 10 December . 

" Especially in the areas like Inanda , we have lot of cases of violence against women and children . We are trying to spread the word to discourage men's from behaving in the manner that they behave . We are talking to structures within the community to discourage perpetrators , and to encourage families to treat their love ones with respect and the children , and to make sure that there's no violence across the country in 365 days . The drive is between the period of 25 - 10 " .
