MK Party on Senzo Meyiwa case

Umkhonto Wesizwe Party member of parliament David Skosana told Shamila Batohi that she has failed the Meyiwa family . Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa was shot and killed in Vosloorus on the 26 October 2014 . Five accused on trial in Pretoria High Court , Muzi Sibiya , Bongani Ntanzi , Mthobisi Mncube , Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Fisokuhle Ntuli .

Skosana was speaking during the parliament adhoc committee on Tuesday , he said " I have to give you farewell of dissapointment ; they say this to you , you failed the Senzo Meyiwa family . Your prosecutors have failed the Senzo Meyiwa family ; not necessarily him alone but his case is been going on for many years , and people who were supposed to be held accountable are untouchable .

" May you please , before you leave the office ; encourage your prosecutors to do the right thing " . Shamila Batohi who is the National Director of Public Prosecutions Of South Africa said " I would take the blame on the side of the prosecutors for the absolute disaster on the prosecution of the Senzo Meyiwa case . I can give details of the fact that there were two pockets in the police , that were investigated in this matter . One reporting to the Minister , one reporting to the national commissioner. 

" These teams were on loggerheads to each other . If I recall correctly on Meyiwa ; they even have pockets opened against each other . It was a total mess . We requested by the team of specific prosecutors from the Johannesburg office , there were allegations against certain prosecutors. I discussed the matter with the DPP of Pretoria and Gauteng and said we gonna take this case out of Johannesburg ; and transfer jurisdiction to Pretoria to get prosecutor . This was to look at both pockets and all the evidence and decide on how to proceed " .
