Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana defender Mbekezeli TLB Mbokazi got his first goal in the 2025/26 season. In the match against Siwelele FC at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon, fans from both clubs came in numbers in support of their respective clubs. Early in the game, Orlando Pirates striker Evidence Makgopa missed a penalty. Siwelele were putting pressure on Mbokazi; the likes of Christian Saile and Samir Nurkovic.
In the second half towards the end of the match, Mbekezeli Mbokazi took a long-range strike resulting in a goal. Orlando Pirates are through to the next round in the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup. They are joining Durban City, Golden Arrows, and Marumo Gallants. After the match, Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou said about Mbokazi, "I'm not surprised because he has a very strong shot. He showed it many times in training. He took the decision to shoot from 30 to 40 yards.
"He showed all his qualities, but he is a guy who believes in himself. You won't shoot from 40 yards if you don't trust yourself. It's a goal that delivers for the whole team. To all the players and fans; you can see that the danger can come from anywhere; it is not only strikers and midfielders."
