Mbekezeli Mbokazi after Egypt match

Chicago Fire and Bafana Bafana defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi says they were hoping to get a penalty towards the end of the match . Speaking to the members of the media after the match Mbokazi said " We were hoping that will get a penalty. So , we don't know how the referee decided not to give . So we won't change the decision of the referee ; what is needed is to unite to make sure that we win our last match . We can't reverse what has already happened . Yes, we are complaining but we can't be focusing on that .

Bafana Bafana lost 1-0 in the group B match against Egypt on Friday afternoon . Goal came in the first half via penalty after Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana defender Khuliso Mudau foul Mohamed Salah . Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Ronwen Williams said " obviously we are dissapointed . The objective in this game was not to lose . We wanted to win or get a point to secure qualification . But it wasn't to be , we feel bad because the decision that were made on the field , it think it was a soft penalty . Obviously when you look at the other side towards the end ; we strongly feel that we should have got our own penalty . 

" That's how football is , we take the lessons . The good thing is , will move on and continue believing in this team . We knew they gonna sit deep because they were one men down and they just defending on the box . Yes , we created few half chances , few decent chances but it wasn't to be . Its always difficult playing with a team with one men down . They gonna sit deep , they not gonna left spaces behind ; and thats what we gonna look for . So lot of lessons to take will grow from this . Amazing obviously they came with different approach and defeated us in the first half . 

" We never expected back five and obviously that put lot of numbers in the middle. Also in the first ten minutes we were trying to adjust . Our boys never gave up , they gave every in the field . We didn't get a goal but im proud of this boys " .
