Judge Ratha on Madlanga Commission
Judge on the Senzo Meyiwa murder case, Ratha Mokgoatlheng, told accused number one Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya not to mention the Madlanga Commission during the cross-examination by State prosecutor George Baloyi. On record, Muzi Sibiya said, " I was assaulted in three places: Thembisa, Vosloorus, and Diepkloof. They assaulted me in a manner in which one would say they have their own way of assaulting someone, without making sure that the person is visible who had been assaulted.
" Even Sibiya ( Shadrack Sibiya ) said the police are capable of killing you and falsely implicating you. Sibiya said he is now fearing for his life ". Senzo Meyiwa was shot and killed on 26 October 2014 in Vosloorus. Aunt of Senzo, Makhosazana Meyiwa, says she's not happy about the progress in court. Speaking to Newzroom Afrika, she said, " We are not well with the justice system; they are failing us . Even the mother of Senzo is getting empty promises.
" What made matters worse was when they hired a retired judge as if we no longer have judges in this country. The late father of Senzo was crying , seeking justice about the death of his son . All the people who were in the house ; when Senzo was shot , they should have been in court . It is only Mthokozisi , Tumelo and Zandile who came to testify in court .
" We never saw Kelly Khumalo's mother , Kelly Khumalo and Longwe Thwala coming to testify in court . Senzo meyiwa child was doing Grade three at that time , and now is in University and want to know about the death of Senzo . Police are working ; it is the courts who are giving criminals a bail . I'm not happy at all about what is happening in that court . They are forcing the accused to agree on something they don't know . Now we have Madlanga Commission ; i trust Mkhwanazi .
