Judge Hlophe on MK Party and Jacob Zuma
Judge John Hlophe was talking Umkhonto Wesizwe Party and how he was suspended . In conversation with Lelethu on the podcast , Hlophe said " President Zuma told me let's meet and talk. I went to the hotel where he was , the security told me president Zuma wasn't there till one of them spotted me that this is judge Hlophe . They went to confirm with president Zuma . Finally I met with president Zuma . We met in Cape Town in one of the hotels . He said to me I want you to do me a favour .
" I want you to lead Umkhonto Wesizwe in parliament . I had no experience in parliament , I asked him one question . Have you tried other people ? . He said yes , i have tried but i don't want to give the names of those people . Then later on he reflect and then said no . But I was too happy to learn that he appointed me on merit because he believed that I was the right person for the job . Obvious this job requires seniority a certain level of sobriety , if you are not sober ; you will not fo it . Obviously there's a lot that we are not in common with president Zuma .
" You can swear at me hundred times a day ; I will never sweared back . You can call me a dog , I just smile because a dog has four legs . If you can look at parliament as Umkhonto Wesizwe Party . We believe that a party is poised to govern now . We have what it takes , we have so much talent within Umkhontk Wesizwe Party . As I have said before , some of the people that I have mentioned earlier. If you gave me the Department of justice I would say no . I know it , in and out . I was a victim of it , I implemented its policy and the law .
" I was a judge for 29 years , i know the department of justice in and out . The lower courts , the higher courts , everything. I would explain in Xhosa ; when go to lobby . You throw a net you will find a fish and snakes . This mean you won't only find fish because the net is wide . It will attract all kind of people . Don't forget one thing , we saw this when Cope was formed ; there were certain people who would resigned from the ANC . The briefing was clear , go and destroy Cope . So I have no doubt when Tata Zuma put this net as he was lobbying .He attracted a lot of bad elements .
