Jose Riveiro on Monnapule Saleng
The former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro told Robert Marawa on Marawa Sports Worldwide what happened with Monnapule Saleng. "Early in the season, he had a good pre-season. In our first game of the season, I think it was against Polokwane City. We were leading 1-0 before half-time. Actually, before the half-time break, he wasn't happy with his performance in the first 45 minutes.
"I tried to find out what was going on because he was not himself in those 45 minutes. We know Saleng and what he is capable of doing on the field. At half-time, I had so much to be kind to convince someone to play and not to play. We tried to make the decision quickly, obviously; maybe it was a little bit too hot at that time. The rest of the story everybody knows more or less. About Saleng and his decision, perhaps it works for him.
"I'm so happy that at least now Monnapule is playing football again; he is doing well for his team. He is helping a lot of people there. Hopefully, he can be again at the beginning of a good period for him because he is a good boy; he deserves everything good. It belongs to him; that's the truth. I hope that if he wants to do it, he will have the opportunity to speak about it. He is the only one who can really tell everyone what happened if the people are still interested in what happened at that time."
