Egyptians Premier League champions Al Ahly have announced the former Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro as the new coach. The Spanish coach parted ways with Orlando Pirates after winning MTN 8 and Nedbank Cup twice. Riveiro left South Africa being beaten only once in the Nedbank Cup.
Riveiro's technical team includes Carlos Nodar (Assistant Coach), Miguel Pepeira (Physical Trainer), Juan Jose (Goalkeeper Trainer), Sebastian Podsindly (Performance Analyst), and Emad El Nahhas (General Coach).
Riveiro is joining the club of the century after coach Marcel Koller parted ways with the club. It is not the first time a coach from the South African club joined Al Ahly. Pitso Mosimane left Mamelodi Sundowns in 2020 to join Al Ahly after winning the league in South Africa.
