Gagasi FM DJ - Collen Zondo

Gagasi FM Prime Time host Collen Zondo said he wishes to host a talk show one day, including current affairs. Speaking to Msimango News, Zondo said, "Initially, my wish was to host a prime time slot; it's exactly what I'm doing right now. It is great to host a talk show; you discuss issues and share knowledge with the listeners." Zondo is a motivational speaker and a voice-over artist.

"When I was in Gauteng, in Katlehong, I was a voice-over artist, doing that to make a living. When it comes to motivation, to the level where I am today, I have to mentor other people, telling them it is possible to work at the commercial radio coming from rural areas," said Zondo. "Zondo is a married man with four kids. He started radio at VUT campus radio, where he met the likes of DJ Mbuso and Lira before joining Kasie FM in Katlehong. At some point in time, he was the only Zulu-speaking presenter at the radio station, VUT FM.

"On Monday, I'm doing an Afro Pop show where I give our African artists a platform to showcase their talents, not only to South Africans but the continent at large. On Wednesdays, it's similar, but it's RNB. Although we don't have many RNB singers in our country, we open a platform for them.

"On Sundays, the one that most of our listeners like, we give more opportunities. The Collen Zondo Foundation is meant to give back to the community.
