Ex - Ukhozi FM DJ break silence on his dismissal
The former Ukhozi FM radio presenter Sbu Buthelezi has finally break the silence on how he was fired by Ukhozi FM . Buthelezi first joined the station in late 90's as the motivational speaker on the Drive Home Show hosted by the former DJ Linda Mr Magic Sibiya . He later joined Igagasi FM , Commercial station in Durban before joining Ukhozi FM as presenter . At Ukhozi FM he was a independent contractor , doing Sunday morning show called Sikhuphukela Entabeni .
He also did the Sunday night show called Unkulunkulu Nomuntu Omusha . Outside the station , he was the MC , motivational speaker and business person . Buthelezi started the chicken business , inviting people to come and invest on it . It is where all the allegations , rumors started . On the 29th June 2022 , SABC released a public statement to announced that , they have parted ways with the presenter . Three years later on Friday morning , Buthelezi went on social media and breaks silence on what exactly happened .
Buthelezi said " Today let me start on what has led me to be fired from the station . I was on air standing in for one of the presenters during the week . At the end of the show , when I was on my way back ; I got the call from the producer of the very same show . The producer said " the manager wants to see me . I then drove back to meet the Big boss ; was alone at the boardroom . Then I was told that , actually I was not supposed to be on air . It is because we now have a pressure from the people you are working with in business.
" I just heared you on air , I once thord of removing you but later I changed my mind , because when you started the show ; one of those who is part of the business , the one who is putting lot of pressure on us , wanting you to be fired . After hearing you on air , the person drove to the station . We told that person , to wait till you finished the show . The person is here in the building . What im going to tell you now , is that we are going to suspend you . This man came to the boardroom and he was told that im now officially suspended . It is when he was asked to give his side of the story .
" Then he explained , then the big boss asked me when I was going to pay back the money to this man . Remember this matter got nothing to do with him , but then I had to explain to him since he is the big boss . I couldn't understand why he has to tell the outsider that im now being suspended at work . We parted ways , I even made commitments that I'll go on air later with this person to clear the air . After two months while I was waiting to be called for hearing , The big boss phoned me to come . What also shocked me was that , on the day of my suspension was alone on the boardroom .
" There was no programs manager who is a line manager , not even HR . We were three of us including this unknown guy . Then I was told that HR will join us on the line since the HR was in Johannesburg . Then , the HR told me that , my contract will be terminated with immediate effect . It was so painful to me to hear that .I told them I won't be able to sign till tomorrow . HR was asked is everything okay , the answer was yes . I then left the boardroom heartbroken . No hearing , no meeting , no call . I never met the big boss since then till the day I was given a dismissal letter .
" I was fired because of the company that bought airtime from the station . Even a single day , we never skipped their ads on air . The narrative that were given was , on my show I was selling services of my private companies which is not true , and they know that . How would the big boss arranged meeting with person, who is not part of the station only a client . I was a independent contractor have rights to companies as long as it doesn't have conflict of interest on ghe radio . For now I'll stop it here , I'll continue later " .
