Durban City are through to the next round in the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup after beating Polokwane City 4-1 on Friday night. In the match played in Chatsworth Stadium, Durban City goals were scored by Fezile Gcaba in the 12th minute. Polokwane City got the equalizer in the 88th minute via the penalty scored by Lebogang Nkaki. Mfanfuthi Mkhize scored for Durban City in the 93rd minute.

The man of the match Fezile Gcaba got his hat trick in the 111th and 114th minutes. Gcaba is the first player to walk away with R100,000 in this season's Carling Knockout Cup. Last season we saw Magesi FC's Elvis Chipezeze win four man of the match prizes in this tournament. In the post-match interview with SABC Sport, Gcaba said, "I'm happy for the team in today's performance."

"This is our first time playing in this tournament so we had to win. I was so disappointed when they scored from the penalty at that time of the game. We had already told ourselves that the job was done at that time. Thanks to my teammates who gave me the strength to rise again after that disappointment. That has helped us to win the game. I was already down but my teammates were able to lift me up."
