After playing the 0-0 draw against Zimbabwe at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday evening, Bafana Bafana are now under pressure to beat Rwanda to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Benin are now on top of group C in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Benin beat Rwanda 1-0 in Kigali, goal scored by Aiyegun Tosin in the 80th minute.
Nigeria won 2-1 against Lesotho at Peter Mokaba Stadium in South Africa. Lesotho, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe are out of the race in qualifying for the World Cup. The former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona got the red card in the second half for Zimbabwe, later Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi was also sent off.
After the match, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo told SABC Sport that they have tried everything to win the game but unfortunately luck was not on their side.
