Bafana Bafana beat Ghana in a friendly match
After all the politics happened prior to the match against Ghana, Bafana Bafana have managed to restore the pride of the nation after beating 1-0 in the friendly match played at Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos made a number of changes in his starting lineup; introducing Polokwane City right back Thabang Matuludi and Siwelele FC goalkeeper Ricardo Goss.
In the first half, both sides tried to create chances although Ghana was using a low block, hoping to catch Bafana Bafana on the counterattacks. The first half ended 0-0. In the second half, Hugo Broos introduced Relebohile Mofokeng, Oswin Appollis, and Teboho Mokoena. In the 57th minute, Orlando Pirates midfielder Sipho Mbule scored a great goal to give Bafana Bafana a win ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Bafana Bafana will play against Angola, Egypt, and Zimbabwe.
After the match, Bafana Bafana players went to the fans for their farewell as they departed on Wednesday to Morocco. Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Sipho Chaine came in the second half. Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos believed that his side is now ready for the AFCON and they are looking forward to doing better than before. In Ivory Coast, Bafana Bafana were knocked out by Nigeria on penalties in the Semi-Final.
