Amakhosi are in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Lubumbashi for the CAF Confederations Cup 2nd preliminary round, 1st leg against AS Simba. Amakhosi are coming into the game after disappointments in the Carling Knockout Cup after being knocked out by Stellenbosch FC. It is sad that Kaizer Chiefs won't be able to watch the match live in Lubumbashi.

Amakhosi released a statement saying the host broadcaster's feed to relay the match to our partners in South Africa as it was done in the previous round in Angola, the host was unable to secure broadcasting rights with local broadcasters, which affects the availability of the feed.

On the 16th of October, the club celebrated the 81st birthday of the club chairman Dr. Kaizer Motaung. On the 22nd of October, Amakhosi will host Siwelele at FNB Stadium before the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup in Dobsonville.
