Absolom Zungu on Senzo Meyiwa murder trial
The father of Constable Sizwe Zungu , Absolom Zungu has done testifying at Pretoria High Court on Friday morning . Zungu was called by the defence lawyer Charles Mnisi who is representing accused number one Muzi Sibiya and accusing number three Mthobisi Mncube . It was expected that Mr. Absolom Zungu will testify on behalf of the state as it is the state who alleged that Mr. Absolom Zungu made a statement implicating Muzi Sibiya and Mthobisi Mncube on the killing of the deceased which is Senzo Meyiwa .
In July this year Mr. Absolom Zungu went to social media denying any knowledge of the statement made by him , a statement that implicate the accused . In the statement submitted in court by the state , the statement were taken in English . In court Mr. Absolom Zungu denied the knowledge of the statement alleging that ,this is the act of criminality . According to Absolom Zungu the written statement were made by Brigadier Bongani Gininda in the place where he was taken by five police officers. Zungu said Gininda came to his place with his son Sizwe Zungu .
He was asked to be taken to town . On the way it is when he realized that he is being taken to another place . On the way the car stopped and another person get into the car . Mr. Absolom Zungu further said when tried to ask where is being taken , one of the police officer told him that , they cannot be told by him . Inside the house he was told what to say and Brigadier Gininda was the one who was writing the statement . There and there , was a consultation to his son as he was outside not in the same place where they were . One of things that Mr. Absolom Zungu is alleging is that , he did not signed the statement and the signature on the statement is not his , according to Absolom Zungu .
He further state that , Gininda promised to take him out of the country , and his bank statement were asked from him . In the beginning he was asked to change his surname from Zungu to Khumalo . At one time , Gininda phoned Absolom Zungu calling him Mzilikazi ka Mashobane . Zungu told Gininda that , you have made a wrong call im not Mzilikazi ka Mashobane im Zungu . Absolom Zungu was not happy in court regarding the fact that his name were mentioned without him being called .
Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng jumped when Mr. Absolom Zungu accused the court for being corrupt and continued with criminality acts . He asked Zungu , are you saying im corrupt ? . According Absolom Zungu it is his son Sizwe Zungu who told him that Brigadier Bongani Zungu is looking for him as he did not know where Absolom Zungu is residing .
